The nose cone is contructed of fiberglass. It will be teathered to the rocket with 5/8" tubular Kevlar.
A two point connection will be made to the mounting plate located midway into the nose cone.
An anti-zippering pad is constructed of nomex fabric folded around the two leads exiting the body of the nose cone. It is assembled with clear Polyseamseal Adhesive Caulk. This product will adhere the folded cloth togeter in place on the teather leads and let it remain firm but flexable to allow the pad to conform to the internal nose cone rim contour.
The mounting plate will need to be sanded to conform to the internal shape of the nose cone at the mounting point. A multi layer 6 Lb. fiberglass mat will attach the mounting plate inside the nose cone.
All hardware will have ny-lock nuts to prevent loosening of the u-bolts.
A 5/16" stainless eye bolt will be installed to aid construction and provide an accessory connection point. All hardware will also be tacked with epoxy glue.
Two 1/4" holes are drilled in the mounting plate to equalize internal pressure.
