Build a Vacuum Testing Chamber
Vacuum Chamber - Electronic Testing
My vacuum test chamber was created to confirm the integrity of the pair of PerfectFlite MiniAlt/WD 25K logging dual event altimeters that will be used in the flight.

This was a simple project to construct using a quart mason jar with a band and lid.  Three pair of 18 guage stranded wires are passed through the lid and knotted on both sides for strength, then sealed with clear Polyseamseal to create a airtight seal.  Through the center of the lid I drilled a hole and inserted a 1/4 inch brass barbed fitting, nutting and sealing it also.

A number of different style vacuum pumps are available on the market.
I am using a 1 quart fluid transfer pump, or a smaller maranade injector to draw the air from the canning jar, thus simulating a launch.
One of the pair of wires will be used to provide a 9 volt power source to the altimeter, while the other 2 pairs will be used for the deployment charges.
All wire ends on the inside of the jar have been tinned to provide a clean and solid connection to the board.
