The purpose of this web site and the information provided in printed form is to document the phases in my quest for Tripoli level 3 certification. This shall be used as a common point of reference for the Tripoli TAP members to check on the progress of the project.
My intension is to cover in detail the redesign, construction and testing phases of the 2/3 scale Nike Smoke high power model rocket manufactured by Polecat Aerospace of Santee, CA.
As with many projects that start with a purchased kit as a core, the builder often will modify or replace the original supplied parts to best fit the purpose and integraty as required or desired. The Nike Smoke Kit .pdf lists all of the supplied parts and a basic build instruction sheet. Some parts supplied with the kit were different then those noted in the instructions.
